2005 Dogwood Arts Festival

“Festival on Market Square”

Dear Guild Members:

 

The Dogwood Arts Festival is currently making plans for its Festival on Market Square to be held on April 14–17, 2005. We are excited to have the Foothills Craft Guild joining us for this event. The enclosed application is for Guild members interested in having a sales booth in the Foothills Fine Crafts Marketplace area, where approximately 38 booths of juried Guild exhibitors will be located. (Another exhibit alternative is to have a sales booth directly on Market Square, for which a separate mailing will be sent out later).

 

The Foothills Fine Crafts Marketplace will be located in the courtyard portion of Krutch Park next to AmSouth Bank on Gay Street in downtown Knoxville. The courtyard is a walk-through area for people going from Gay Street to Market Square. Overnight security will be provided for Foothills craft exhibitors. There are a limited number of booth spaces in the courtyard area, so booth sharing (two exhibitors) is permitted.  Booth sharing is one way to include more artists in the show and for exhibitors to have some booth relief.  If you decide to share, please have one artist mail in the application with full booth fee payment, and list the second exhibitor’s name and contact information in the space provided.  All applications will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis, with your postmark date used as a reference.

 

2005 Foothills Fine Crafts Marketplace during the Festival on Market Square:

 

1 (10’ X 10’) Single Booth Space with white tent                            $165.00

 

Booth fee includes:

  1. Overnight security
  2. 6-foot table with 2 chairs

 

Exhibitors are responsible for putting up and taking down their own tent sides. Larger spaces and/or double booths are not available.

 

Dates and Times:

 

Wednesday, April 13                          Load in and set up:  See below for details.

Thursday, April 14                             10 am - 7 pm

Friday, April 15                                   10 am - 7 pm

Saturday, April 16                              10 am - 7 pm (optional until 8 pm)

Sunday, April 17                 12 pm - 6 pm

 

Load-in/Set Up will be on Wednesday, April 13, beginning at 12 noon.  On arrival, checkin with a Dogwood Arts Festival (DAF) volunteer or with Karen Noggle, who will be in the Krutch Park extension courtyard.  In order to facilitate a smooth set up, please follow this order:

 

                Booth Numbers 1-17:          Begin arriving at 12 noon or later, Wednesday, April 13

                Booth Numbers 18-34:        Begin arriving at 1 pm or later, Wednesday, April 13

 

Parking and unloading will be in the alley behind the Krutch Park extension at the back of the AmSouth Bank building OR from parallel parking spaces on Gay Street.  Unload quickly and then move your vehicle to a parking lot or space.  Set up can continue until dusk.

 

Badges:  All Guild exhibitors should wear their Foothills badge.  If you are new to the Guild and have not yet received your badge, contact Charlie Mead ASAP (865-345-1993).

 

The Festival on Market Square includes many other events:  The Biscuit Bake-Off, The Gallery Crawl (tentative), DAF Opening Ceremonies, DAF Parade, Children’s Activities, Bluegrass Competition, Literary Day, and more.
